Why do we charge tuition?

We charge tuition to pay the teachers, rent, insurance, supplies, etc.  Some people prefer to just drop off kids and pay the tuition, others want a way to reduce their costs and teach or volunteer.  We are non-profit, but not officially. We try to keep our prices as low as possible while covering all expenses. 

PRICING STRUCTURE FOR 2009-2010

The EASIEST way to figure out how much your classes are is to register online and let the computer figure it out for you.

We operate on a 10 week session.  The base price for most 1 hour a week classes for the 10 weeks is $55.  Many classes for teens and little ones are slightly less. 

The discount is based on the total number of classes your whole immediate family takes: 

1 Class = full price
2-3 Classes = 10% off
4-5 Classes = 20% off
6-7 Classes = 30% off
8-10 Classes = 40% off
11-29 Classes = 50% off
30+ Classes = 55% off

If you pay for the entire 10 week session at the beginning, you will get a $15 discount off your total above $150.  Otherwise you can do 2 monthly payments.  

Parents may register for classes as students too.  If a parent signs up for a class their child is taking, the parent attends for free (provided there is enough room in the class.)

 PLEASE NOTE:  Most clubs and a few classes are NOT included in this discount structure. They are marked as "Not Discountable" in the class schedule. 

SUPPLY FEE

Some classes may incur an additional supply fee.  Supply fees are not discountable.  This charge is for consumable supplies, texts, etc that your child will own and take home.

CLEANING FEE

There is no longer an additional cleaning fee.  Instead, we've added a little extra to the tuition price so you don't have to worry about paying a cleaning fee any more.

PRICING EXAMPLE #1 (for the 10 week session)

1 child takes history, science & math plus Rec Club.

History - $55 / $12 supply fee
Science  - $55 / $12 supply fee
Math - $55

Hiking Club - $1

Total Tuition for discountable classes = $165, less 10% (3 classes) = $148.50

Total non-discountable classes = $1

Total Supply Fee = $24
Total cost: $173.50


Upfront cost ($15 discount if paid at the beginning of the session) = $158.50

OR 2 payments = First payment $86.75, second payment $86.75

PRICING EXAMPLE #2 (for the 10 week session)

2 children take the same classes as above.

Total Tuition = $330, less 30% (6 classes) = $231

Total non-dscountable classes = $2

Total Supply Fee = $48

Total Cost: $281

Upfront cost ($15 discount) = $266
